Model year 2017 updates for 8 Family Tractors

For model year 2017, the 8R Series is expanding its family lineup with the addition of its highest horsepower model, the 8400R.

The 8400R features a Final Tier 4 (FT4)/Stage IV-compliant John Deere PowerTech™ PSS 9.0L engine at 400 rated engine hp (313 power take-off [PTO] hp) and 449 maximum engine hp with Intelligent Power Management (IPM). Internal testing shows the 8400R delivers up to a 2 percent increase in fuel savings over the 8370R.

At the same weight as an 8370R, but with 8 percent more rated engine hp, the power-dense 8400R ensures that power is available on command when conditions get tough. This added power enables growers to achieve faster working speeds and maximize implement capabilities to cover more acres per day.

The 8400R is only available with the fluid-efficient e23™ transmission.
