StarFire™ 3000 Receiver over-the-air software updates
ISG has implemented the capability to update StarFire 3000 Receiver over-the-air software using JDLink™ Connect and Modular Telematics Gateway (MTG) 3G. ISG further expands the remotely connected solutions with this new functionality. This release is for large ag platforms that have JDLink factory-installed or field-installed MTG kits that are connected to Controller Area Network (CANbus).
As of 14 March, ISG made available new firmware to MTGs with active JDLink subscriptions. After the MTG automatically updates firmware, through the CAN connection, MTG will verify what StarFire 3000 software version is currently installed. If a newer version of software is available, the MTG will automatically download this software bundle. The machine will operate normally while it downloads the software in the background. The user will then need to initiate the software installation through the display interface to update the connected SF3000. GreenStar™ GS2, GS3, and GS4 Displays will have an interface to track software download and installation.
See DTAC solution 103265 for specific information regarding this new offering.
NOTE: User interface of the update is very similar to a Service ADVISOR™ Remote session. The install can take up to 35 minutes to complete and all StarFire functions will be unavailable during install time.
