7290R Nebraska Tractor Test results

Nebraska Tractor Test Lab reports are now available for John Deere Final Tier 4 (FT4) 7R Series Tractors. The 7290R e23™ delivered the most fluid-efficient row-crop tractor ever recorded at 75 percent pull under maximum power.

Increased power take-off (PTO) and drawbar horsepower
  • 278.29 standard PTO horsepower at 1950 engine rpm.
  • 223.85 maximum drawbar horsepower under maximum power.
This gives the tractor 11 hp more PTO and 25 hp more drawbar than the Interim Tier 4 (IT4) 7280R Tractor it replaced.

Record fluid efficiency when less than 75 percent load at maximum power
  • 0.4 gal./hour (1.5 L/hour) better diesel fuel economy than IT4 7280R.
  • 0.3 gal./hour (1.1 L/hour) better diesel fuel economy than IT4 selective catalytic reduction (SCR)-only Magnum® 290.
  • 15.58 hp gal./hour total fluid efficiency with average diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) consumption of 0.2 gal./hour (0.75 L/hour).
Even with DEF consumption, the 7290R e23 delivered a 16 percent fluid efficiency improvement compared to the IT4 7280R and the highest efficiency mark recorded at Nebraska Tractor Test Lab.

Improved operator comfort
  • A quiet cab can be found on the FT4 7R Series Tractors and the Nebraska Test Lab results show this.
  • A peaceful 68.8 dB(A) inside the cab at transport speeds provides improved comfort.

A 1.6 dB(A) noise level reduction compared to the IT4 7280R.
John Deere FT4 updates were about more than meeting emission regulations. The tractors also provide increased performance, lower cost of operation, and e23 on the 7290R.
