The PowerGard™ Protection Plan is an extended warranty program for all eligible new or used John Deere Tractors covering defective components and parts due to faulty materials or original workmanship.

The John Deere PowerGard™ Protection for new (in-warranty) tractors is available in either the Limited (engine & powertrain) coverage, or the Comprehensive (full machine) coverage forms. The new Comprehensive (full machine) coverage under PowerGard™ Protection is available only on new tractors (purchased while in warranty) when used in normal agricultural applications. PowerGard™ Protection for used (out of warranty) tractors is ONLY available in the Limited (engine & powertrain) coverage form.

The PowerGard™ Protection Plan is not insurance. PowerGard™ Protection is not available to residential customers/users of CUT Tractors (2000, 3000, 4000 Series) in the U.S. Residential U.S. customers of CUTs can purchase JDESP for extended coverage. State and Provincial specific regulatory requirements determine if PowerGard™ Protection can or can not be sold on AG or C&CE tractors or other commercial equipment purchased by residential customers/users. See the list of approved states for the selling of PowerGard™ Protection to residential customers on select eligible equipment (such as 5000 Series tractors) within the "Approved States" link near the top of the New/Used Unit tractor calculator.

PowerGard™ Protection Plan programs are designed to complement other aftermarket products, such as the PowerGard Maintenance Plan, to give customers more control over their total cost of ownership.

PowerGard™ Protection for New/Used Tractors can be purchased in the following periods:
