ROPS hinge pins now feature easy-to-grab handle for effortless, quick adjustment on 5E 3-cylinder models.

AFFORD
Reasonably priced 5E Series tractors are designed to meet the needs of your budget and your operation.

The 5E 3-cylinder models offer 14 percent greater visibility with a newly-designed hood that is 3 1/2 inches lower and 4 inches narrower than previous models.

DO RUGGED WORK
Hardnosed 5E Series tractors provide excellent power to weight ratios offering greater pulling power to handle more intense work such as tilling or other ground engaging applications.

STAY IN THE FIELD
The 5E Series 3-cylinders now provide more operating time between fueling thanks to a larger fuel tank and a redesigned after-treatment package.

GET COMFORTABLE
A thicker, taller seat cushion coupled with a wider, flatter operator platform offers a smoother ride in harsh terrain.

Making the decision to purchase a new utility tractor is now easier than ever. With key enhancements to the 5E 3-cylinder models along with the already proven 5E 4-cylinder models John Deere provides a stellar lineup to suit just about any need. The 5E Series features the value of choice with cab or open station, 2WD or 4WD, and transmission options in addition to easy-to-use controls and loader compatibility.

SIX MODELS. INFINITE POSSIBILITIES
Offering six different models ranging from 50-100 horsepower, 5E Series utility tractors come fully loaded with the powerful, efficient John Deere PowerTech engine to handle tough chores on your property such as loading, rotary cutting and snow removal. With the 12F/12R PowrReverser transmission available on 55-100 models (5055E - 5100E) and the 24F/12R transmission available on the 90 and 100 models (5090E - 5100E), youll experience seamless directional control and effortless shifting, whichever model you choose. Open station is standard on the 5045E, while a climate-controlled cab option is available on the 5055E and higher horsepower models.

JOHN DEERE POWERTECH ENGINE
At the heart of every 5E Series tractor youll find a powerful, yet efficient, John Deere PowerTech turbocharged diesel engine thats equipped with an automatic regeneration system requiring no interaction nor the need to be parked during normal operating temperatures.

The 5E Series makes using your tractor simple, without sacrificing efficiency or emissions compliance. The engine runs at a standard rated operating speed of just 2100 RPM on the 5E 3-cylinders and 2400 RPM on the 5E 4-cylinders. This helps to significantly reduce noise, vibration and wear over the long run.

PROTECT YOURSELF FORM THE ELEMENTS. AND NEVER MISS A THING.
COMFORT
From sweltering summer heat to bitter winter cold, the 5E Series climate-controlled cab will keep you comfortable year round with its exceptional air conditioning and heating systems. Plus, opening side windows provides a breath of fresh air, while a wide-opening, left-side door makes cab entry and exit a breeze.

VISIBILITY
With a back window that opens a full 70 degrees and a fuel tank tucked out of your line of sight, the 5E Series offers superior visibility for quick implement hookup. The operator-friendly cab also features a black out visor to ward off the sun and a bright dome light to help navigate under the stars.

A QUIETER, CLEANER CAB
Thanks to a unique cab design that unifies the enclosure with the floor and steering column, the fully isolated cab on the 5E Series eliminates common vibrations, squeaks and rattles for a remarkably quiet ride. The unibody design also seals the cab from dust and debris (even when baling and rotary cutting) for a cleaner interior.

5E SERIES PTO
Nothing says E Series like the 540 E economy PTO option, which is standard with the 12F/12R and 24F/12R PowrReverser transmissions. With the 540 economy PTO, you can reduce engine rpm to decrease fuel consumption and shave some time off your work day with less trips to refill. You also enjoy lower noise levels and reduced vibration for a quieter, comfier ride. You have less wear and tear on the engine, as well. Its ideal for running your tedding, raking, baling or other similar PTO applications. Thanks to the 540 economy PTO, work is as easy as it gets.

IMPLEMENT HOOKUP IS A SNAP
John Deeres rockshaft control lever allows you to adjust implements within 0.4 in. (10 mm), in addition to simultaneously altering implement lowering speed, lateral float and depth stop. As a result, you can easily accommodate for uneven terrain and set ground contour. With the adjustable depth stop, you can also consistently lower your hitch to the same level for tasks such as seedbed preparation.

TORQUE RESERVE FOR POWERING THROUGH TOUGH SPOTS
Getting the power to the ground refers to torque. Torque is a force that produces or tends to produce rotation or a twisting force. Torque represents the useable power that can be achieved. The more torque, the more lugging ability is available. More torque also equates to more load carrying capacity.

24F/12R POWRREVERSER TRANSMISSION FOR MORE SPEED SELECTION VARIETY
This PowrReverser transmission provides 24 forward speeds and 12 reverse (24F/12R) speeds. This transmission comes standard with a dual speed 540/540 Economy power take-off (PTO), and it is ideal for applications requiring frequent directional changes, such as loader work and PTO work like rotary cutting and baling hay.

Hydraulic wet forward and reverse clutches maximize durability and outlast the life of any dry clutch. When tractors are run by multiple operators with a variety of experience levels, a wet clutch is the best way to maintain transmission integrity and performance while decreasing clutch replacement costs.

Two platform-mounted levers offer easy and comfortable shifting. To distinguish the two levers for ease of operation, the gear-shift lever is longer and the less-used range lever is shorter. Unique knobs make it easy to distinguish between the two just by feel. The hi/lo selector buttons are located on the gear shift lever for each forward gear, and are represented by a rabbit and a turtle respectively. The forward lever selects one of four gears. All are synchronized for on-the-go shifting with the use of the clutch. The rear lever selects one of three ranges: A, B, or C.

Maximum productivity is achieved with clutch-less hydraulic shifting between forward and reverse. PowrReverser functionality is ideal for rear blading and any applications that require frequent directional changes in tight spaces. An electrohydraulic fingertip directional lever control allows the operator to effortlessly switch directions with a small finger motion. The control is located on the left side of the instrument console and selects forward, reverse, and neutral positions. It also allows the operator to steer and shift direction with the left hand, freeing the right hand to operate other tractor controls, such as the loader, rear implements, or hand throttle. The PowrReverser has a built-in engagement override valve for additional safety. This valve requires the clutch pedal to be depressed one time after each engine start before the transmission will begin to operate normally, giving the operator another opportunity to put all focus on the tractor. A neutral start switch requires the directional lever be in the neutral position to start the engine.

24F/12R TRANSMISSION INCLUDES:
Wet clutch
Platform-mounted shift levers with four gears (with hi/lo selector in forward) and three ranges
Left-hand reverser
Constant-mesh helical-cut gears
Pressure-lubricated top shaft
Positive park pawl
Neutral start switch
