The 245 engine hp (200 PTO hp*) 8245R is powered by a John Deere PowerTech™ PSS 9.0L engine designed to provide world-class power and efficiency. The 8245R also features the CommandView™ III cab with CommandARM™ and fully-integrated 4600 CommandCenter™ with a 254-mm (10-in.) display. The ergonomic layout of the CommandARM combined with the intuitive operation of the CommandCenter offer the ultimate in control and adjustment of tractor functions. The CommandView III cab also features laminated front glass and a sound dampening foam barrier around the steering column to reduce engine noise in the cab.

The John Deere 8245R CommandView III cab may be optionally equipped with a 360-degree light-emitting diode (LED) lighting package, a convenient in-cab refrigerator, premium sound system, Bluetooth™ interface, and MP3 and satellite radio capabilities give the operator unmatched comfort for long days in the field.

An expanded product line from John Deere Ag Management Solutions (AMS) teamed up with John Deere equipment creates a powerful solution for any farming operation.

John Deere 8245R AMS technology is highly integrated into John Deere 7R and 8R/8RT Series Tractors. These tractors are AutoTrac™ Ready, making it easier for producers to increase profits their first pass through the field. AutoTrac Ready means the steering components required for AutoTrac are installed on the machine. For tractors, this includes:

  • Cab harness (display to receiver)
  • Brackets for the receiver*
  • Wheel angle sensor (if applicable)
  • Electrohydraulic valve
  • Steering controller

With JDLink™ coming factory installed on the 7R and the 8R/8RT Tractors, producers can take their operation to the next level of productivity and efficiency without leaving the office. Using the power of JDLink, John Deere’s telematics system, producers can optimize productivity, increase uptime, and boost profits by looking at machine location, machine performance, and performing maintenance to maintain machine health.

CommandCenter AutoTrac™ activation leverages the simple modern interface offered with the Generation 4 CommandCenter.
With a Generation 4 CommandCenter, the StarFire™ receiver determines the level of AutoTrac system accuracy. The CommandCenter AutoTrac activation supports all available accuracy options including SF1, SF2, and RTK.
The following features allow operators and John Deere 8245R to be more productive with CommandCenter AutoTrac activation on a 4100 or 4600 CommandCenter.
Tracking options include:

  • Straight track
  • AB curve track
  • Adaptive curve track
  • Circle track

Advancements in guidance line creation and operation:

  • Set an A/B line without losing visibility to the guidance map.
  • Lines are automatically named and can be edited. First line will automatically be named Track 1.
  • Select straight track or curve track by simply toggling between two tabs. Tracking options include a picture to illustrate the difference between each tracking mode.
  • Set up a list of tracks and quickly switch between them.

The 4100 and 4600 CommandCenter in the John Deere 8245R, also known as the Generation 4 CommandCenter, creates the primary user interface for 6R, 7R, 8R/8RT and 9R/9RT Tractors. The Generation 4 CommandCenter provides an excellent, user-savvy operating experience.

Producers can also use a variety of implements with the Generation 4 CommandCenter as it is ISOBUS virtual terminal (VT) capable.

Expect machine productivity gains, along with increased operator confidence thanks to a simple, customizable interface. The reliability of the Generation 4 CommandCenter also aids in optimal operating experience and maximizes uptime.

The Generation 4 CommandCenter features a modular-designed layout manager, so an operator can easily create the structure that meets the operator’s demands. From the factory, machines are equipped with standard run pages. An unlimited amount of run pages can be added to the Generation 4 CommandCenter based on operator preference or operational needs. Toggling between run pages is as easy as swiping the screen or using the arrow buttons on the top right portion of the title bar.

Users and access
Users and access allow the owner to lock out certain functions to prevent operators from accessing or changing settings. Lock-out functions are managed with an owner-defined four-digit code.
